This is usually the question I get asked most often – and the honest answer is: it takes time because it takes care . A wedding film isn’t a quick edit. Creating something beautiful that does justice to one of the most important days of your life requires patience, artistry, and attention to detail.
At Moonstruck Videos, you can typically expect your completed wedding film within 8-12 weeks of your wedding day. During busy periods (the summer wedding season), this can extend slightly – I’ll always be upfront about realistic timelines when you enquire.
To help you enjoy the wait, I send a short teaser clip within a few weeks of the wedding – a little taste of what’s to come. This is usually 30-60 seconds of the most beautiful footage from the day, colour graded and set to music.

The moment your film arrives in your inbox is something special. I’d encourage you to create a proper moment for it – pour a glass of wine, put it on the television if you can, watch it together in private before you share it with anyone else. Give yourselves permission to cry.

The Questions Couples Ask Most
Over the years, certain questions come up again and again before booking. Here are the ones I hear most often, with honest answers.
How involved do I need to be in the process? Very little, if that’s what you prefer. Some couples want to be closely involved in the music choice and edit structure; others hand the whole thing over and trust me to make something beautiful. Either approach works. I’ll ask about music preferences at the planning stage and take it from there. You won’t need to make any creative decisions on the day itself.
Can I change the music after I’ve seen the first cut? In most cases, yes – within reason. If you’ve asked for one specific track and change your mind at the first cut stage, that’s a straightforward fix. If you want a completely different style or feel, that might involve a second revision. I’ll always tell you honestly what’s possible within the revision rounds included in your package.
What if we want a longer film? My standard delivery is a highlights film of eight to twelve minutes. If you’d like a longer cut – perhaps to include the full ceremony, or a longer reception edit – we can discuss that. The Fairytale package includes a full ceremony cut as standard. Additional edits can often be arranged at an extra cost depending on how much additional work they involve.
Do you film speeches in full? Yes. The lapel microphone on the groom is one of the tools I use for the ceremony, and I set up a room microphone specifically for speeches. The speeches section of a wedding film is often the most replayed. Hearing the exact words your dad or your best friend used – in their actual voice, unrehearsed – is something couples tell me they treasure long after the day itself.
What file format do I get? I deliver a high-resolution MP4 file, which plays on any device and can be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, or Dropbox. I’ll also include a compressed version optimised for sharing on WhatsApp if you need something smaller to send to family.
Why Working with a Solo Videographer Makes a Difference
I work alone. One camera operator, one editor, one person who knows your wedding from start to finish. When you book a videography company that sends a crew, you often don’t know who will show up on the day. You may have spoken to the owner but never met the person actually filming. How to Prepare for the Filming Day
There’s very little you need to do to prepare for having a videographer at your wedding, but a few small things make a difference. Share your venue contact details and a rough schedule in advance so I know when key moments are happening. Let your registrar or celebrant know there will be a videographer present – most are completely fine with it, but I appreciate the heads-up conversation happening before the day. And on the day itself, don’t worry about where I am or what I’m capturing. That’s my job. Your job is to enjoy your wedding.
